Michelin Man

Hi to everyone reading from ICLW!! In case you couldn't tell by the picture just above this post, I am pregnant, though still pretty new to the pregnancy thing. My belly has already started to change in shape. And I know that it will eventually look beautiful and be perfect. But right now, it doesn't look at all like a pregnant woman's belly. Instead, it looks like the Michelin Man.

It really is the strangest thing. The only way I can really give you a visual is to say that it looks like I'm wearing an invisible belt. I have a roll above the belly button and a roll below the belly button. And I know they will connect eventually, but right now, I'm the Michelin Lady!

  2. I remember being exactly the same way at around 7 weeks - I used to call it my cream bun bump because it just looked like I had been eating a few extra cakes rather than I was pregnant.

Congratulations on your pregnancy, I hope your journey is a smooth one :)

  9. Thanks for the comment on my blog! I've been wondering this very same thing...how exactly do we get from here to perfectly formed baby bump? We're both soon to find out, I think! :-)

  12. Thanks for the comment on my blog!! This is a weird time in a pregnancy. Not a lot of weight gain (well...that depends) but a lot of changes to your body. It's hard to blame it on a creature the size of a grape but that's all you can hope for.

You'll go from feeling like the Michelin Man to people whispering behind your back, "Is she..?" to people coming out and saying, "Are you...?" In both of those cases careful not to actually utter the word pregnant because they've accidentally rubbed the "belly" of someone who was just fat- LOL! Then it will be so obvious no one will have to ask. And through all of it your amazing body will keep changing. Enjoy it!

  14. That is a perfect description!! I feel like people notice the extra pound or two and I definitely don't feel pregnant. Congrats on that by the way! Thanks for stopping by - it is amazing, but still so surreal!
