12 Weeks 1 Day Quiz/Update

Hi, to everyone here from ICLW! I thought it would be a good idea for those of you reading my blog for the very first time (or the first time in a few weeks) to let you all know what I've been up to. If you haven't guess, I'm pregnant. I am so thankful for that, as it took a long time without and with fertility meds. Thank you for stopping by my blog!

How far along: 12 weeks 1 days

Symptoms: Nausea (only at night, usually after dinner), some tiredness but the extreme exhaustion has finally passed, bloated still, a bit gassy at times, a growing belly

Total weight gain: 5lbs at last weigh in at the doctor, I guess that's not too bad

Maternity clothes: Mostly tops. I do have one pair of pants. I am learning to make friends with the Be.Band. It's not the most comfortable, but it works to keep me from buying maternity pants yet. I'm procrastinating, but a few more weeks and I'll need maternity pants.

Stretch marks: Only on my chest, as it has they have definitely grown already. But none on the tummy yet. I'm using tons of Palmer's Cocoa Butter.

Sleep: I sleep like a baby most of the time, until I have to pee. I find myself doing that two or three times in the middle of the night. I'm not liking that very much. I've had a few nights of bad sleep, but mostly, it's pretty sound sleep.

Best moment last week: Realizing that the second trimester is just around the corner!

Movement: The fluttering has started. It's the strangest thing...sort of like gas but not quite the same.

Food cravings: Taco.Bell (mainly the taco salad), cheesesteak, hamburgers, salty things. No more red sauce cravings, lasagna and I are not friends right now.

Belly Button in or out: In, of course!

What I miss: Evenings without nausea

What I am looking forward to: My next appointment with Dr. H in two weeks

Milestones: Seeing hands and feet for the first time on an ultrasound.

How is daddy? He is wonderful. He's dealing with the pregnancy hormones. He's also dealing with the weird fact that people (including myself) blowing their noses makes me nauseous. I couldn't ask for a more wonderful husband/father of our child-to-be. He rubs my belly and talks to Little Bean. It's cute.

How are the grandparents? They are excited as can be.

  2. Don't wait in the maternity pants. You'll be so glad you didn't. They are the AWESOMEST thing ever! Get the ones that have like the 2" elastic band, not the ones that have the panel, you won't need the panel until later in your pregnancy. Seriously though, maternity pants are the most wonderful things ever. I missed going back into normal pants after my pregnancy.

Congrats on the baby after such a long journey! I wish you all the best!
